Join the Ride for Inclusion!
March 16, 2024
Four Ways To Participate!
Get those legs moving while riding through some of the most beautiful scenery in Western Washington!
With a route that will have you watching the sunrise from Chuckanut Drive, spending a beautiful morning in Skagit Valley, enjoying the Centennial Trail, and end the day on the beautiful Lake Washington Blvd.
This is the primary fundraiser for R.I.D.E. 4 All, and all proceeds will go to expanding our mission of providing inclusive recreational activities for people of all abilities.
Registration
For the first time, we will be having more than one route length, and the celebration will be at the mid-way point!
Four Ways to Participate! (Full details below!)
A fun, FULLY INCLUSIVE mid-way jubilee
A shorter 25-mile ride
A full 123-mile ride
A virtual option to join in from anywhere in the world!
You can register, start your own fundraising team, and compete against the rest of the riders.
-
The halfway-ish point party!
Come celebrate inclusion at the Machias Trailhead of the Centennial Trail! There will be snacks, activities, and a kids dash!
Not sure you can ride the longer routes? Well, we will mark off a shorter distance for activities of all kinds and people of all abilities!
All participants in an activity including the kid's dash will be required to register and sign a waiver.
-
For experienced riders only!
This is the 123-mile ride from Bellingham to Seattle! We will have a celebration party on Friday, March 15th, and ride out of Bellingham on Saturday morning March 16th at around 6:00 am.
Basic food and hydration will be provided at different stops, but we will have minimal rest stops. We will have a support vehicle that stops in places as needed, and the ride leader will have easy communication access to support.
All Full Day riders will be required to sign a waiver as well as provide their own hotel and transportation to and from the event.
-
This ride will start from the Centennial Trail trailhead at Nakashimi Barn on Saturday, March 16th, and ride with the full-day riders to the Jubilee!
This will be along the Centennial Trail, which is paved and maintained. There may be some basic street riding required, but nothing too difficult.
It will end at Machias Trailhead where there will be the mid-point Jubilee!
All riders will be required to sign a waiver. Riders will be responsible for their transportation to and from start and finish.
-
Not in town, or want to do the full ride from the warmth of your own stationary bike? Well, register for the virtual option!
We will send you the routes and you can share your journey with us.
Schedule
Friday, March 15th
We love Bellingham. It’s a beautiful city with amazing food and wonderful breweries. This is why we will kick off the ride the night before, grab some food, have a toast, and get ready to ride out the next day.
Riders: Since we are still growing the event, you will be required to have your hotel room and transportation to Bellingham. Based on # of riders, we will be able to get your gear back in one of the vehicles.
Saturday, March 16th
The 5th Annual 321 for 3.21 event! We are more than excited to share this with you this year! We challenge all participants (riders and those coming to celebrate), to create a team! Bet you can’t raise the most money. Maybe there will be prizes…
Four ways to get involved:
The Long Ride (123 miles). Experienced riders only! Join us on this minimally supported ride from Bellingham to Seattle! This route is beautiful, and while the time of year can be tough, it is not to be missed. Includes Chuckanut, Skagit Valley, the Centennial Trail, and other wonderful locations. We will celebrate the end for the riders and their families in the Renton area.
The Shorter Route (~25 miles). Riders can join The Long Riders as they jump on the Centennial Trail at the Nakashima Barn trailhead, and ride down to Machias. There is no planned rides back, so we recommend riders meet someone at the Machias Trailhead for the Jubilee!
The Midway Jubilee at Machias! Come down to the Machias trailhead and celebrate with us. Time is TBD, but there will be games, activities, food, and a Kids Dash! This is 100% inclusive for all ages and all abilities. Parking is available at the location.
Virtual ride! Join us on any distance by downloading the routes, plugging it into your machine, and riding along. OR, do any activity of ANY 321 distance (3.21, 32.1 3.21 blocks, anything!) and post on social media with #321for321.
All participants must agree to the Waiver posted here.
Thursday, March 21st
March 21st is World Down Syndrome Day, and we challenge you to take a step to increase the awareness around the need for inclusion - of those of all abilities. Here’s the challenge:
Click the race bib above to download
On 3/21 Move any version of 321 (3.21 mile run, a 32.1 ride, a 3.21 block walk), and share a photo of you holding the bib
Tag #321for321 and #Ride4All to share the inclusion message!
Weather
We know that March in the Puget Sound is….interesting. So be prepared. Previous years have been kind of cold, the Skagit Valley section can be a little windy, but we have dodged rain on this portion of the route each year (heavily knocking on wood).
Recommended:
Rain / Wind pants that you can remove / add if needed.
Waterproof warm gloves and socks
LAYERS
We will keep this page updated with detail from Epic Ride Weather, so keep checking back.
Food, Beverage, and Mechanical Support
We will have a vehicle running support throughout the event. Their vehicle will have basic maintenance supplies, as well as food and water. Your fare includes the food, water, and electrolyte/hydration. If you have dietary needs or preferred items, we ask you to bring that yourself.
They will be at multiple places along the route (definitions coming soon) for food and water refills including:
Nakashima Barn (~50 miles)
Machias mid-way Jubilee (~75 miles)
Other areas will be defined as we get closer to the event.
We are also looking for sponsors to provide more support throughout the event.
Where to Stay
Bellingham has a lot of options for hotels and rental properties. It’s one of the reasons we love it so much.
The start line will be Downtown, close to the Waypoint Park, so please note that when reserving a place to stay.
We have stayed at the Heliotrope Hotel in previous years, which is an easy ride to the start.
Thank you to our sponsors!
